Abstract: The discovery and confirmation of a thermal component in GRB prompt spectra has led to promising new results about the structure of GRB jets. The prompt spectra appear to consist of at least two components: a non-thermal component possibly associated with synchrotron emission and a thermal component emanating from the jet photosphere. We present analysis that unifies these two components via the data and lays the ground work for relating the jet structure to the radiative processes responsible for the gamma-ray emission. Specifically, we find a correlation between the synchrotron and thermal component that is present in several Fermi GRBs.
